It’s been an amazing week here on Namotu Island, Fiji for the BWS Kite Week.
The first day was a nice little warm up surf day, followed by what was 5 out of 7 windy days with 3ft plus of swell everyday! Some days topped 6ft plus of swell and good wind which really got everyone frothing.
Definitely the stand out of the week was young James (Storm Boy) Carew from Melbourne. Riding more hours of the day than there is light he took full advantage of winning his ticket here from placing first for the Juniors at the Merimbula Wave Sailing Classic last year.
We took some time to chat with James which will all be in the next issue of FREEDOM coming this September. Here’s some pics of him charging the local break Namotu lefts… Pics by Stu Gibson.
